The IBPS SO will soon advertise their selection and recruitment process notification for 2018  in around March 2018. The Selection process for all the posts is same, however, in a fewer posts the exam pattern is little different. Any eligible candidate, who want to join any of the 20 Participating Organisations (you may refer the list of banks below) as one of the Specialist Officers’ (SO) post, is required to register for the Common Recruitment Process (CRP SPL-VII).

The selection will be made on the basis of:

  1. An online examination: Prelims and Mains (Prelims: December end, Mains January end)
  2. Face to face interview (February)

Candidates who will qualify in Online Preliminary Examination and shortlisted will have to appear for Online Main Examination.

IBPS SO Mains exam is also conducted online and it consists of Objective Tests with 60 questions of 60 marks. You should also know that the Mains exam is classified too as per the post and is only different for the post of Rajbhasha Adhikari.

Key points

  • Please note that there is also a penalty for 0.25 marks for each wrong answer marked in the Objective type questions. In case you leave an answer blank, no penalty will be applied.
  • Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests will be conducted online. For Descriptive test, candidates will have to answer by typing on the computer. Immediately after completion of Objective Test, Descriptive Test will be administered.
  • For Professional knowledge exam, all the objective questions are asked from the respective job streams. For example, a person appearing for the post of IT will be asked with questions related to computers; while a person preparing for Marketing will be asked questions on advertisements, marketing etc.
  • For the post of Rajbhasha Adhikari, a descriptive test is conducted, for which there will be an Essay, Precise and Comprehension and should be related on the current affair topics. The descriptive test will include two questions in English / Hindi and will be conducted through on-line mode only by typing on the computer with the keyboard. Interview Process:

The candidates who will clear the online Prelims and Mains exam will be called upon for the final test i.e. Interview. The total marks allotted for Interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks in interview should be greater than or equal to 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates). The weightage (ratio) of Online CWE (Main Exam) and interview will be 80:20 respectively.

After evaluation, the final result is declared within 2-3 months and the Provisional Allotment list will be released for selected candidates with the respective post.

This Interview will be conducted by the Participating Organisations and coordinated by the Nodal Banks in each State/ UT with the help of IBPS. All the information regarding the interview will be informed to the shortlisted candidates in the call letter.

    • Click on “CLICK HERE FOR NEW REGISTRATION” to register their application by entering their basic information in the online application form.
  • After that a provisional registration number and password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen.
  • Candidates are now required to upload their photograph and signature
  • You should keep clicking “SAVE AND NEXT” facility to verify the details in the online application form and modify the same if required.
    • No change is permitted after clicking on FINAL SUBMIT Button.
  • Please note that the Name of the candidate and his /her Father/ Husband etc. should be spelt correctly in the application and should be the same as it appears in the Certificates/ Mark sheets as well as on the photo id. Any change/alteration found may result in disqualification the candidate.
  • Rectify details if required, and click on ‘FINAL SUBMIT’ ONLY after verifying and ensuring that the photograph, signature has been uploaded and other details filled by you are correct.
  • Click on ‘Payment’ Tab and proceed for payment then Click on ‘Submit’ button.

IBPS SO Apply Online – Payment of Fees (Online Mode Only)

  • The payment can be made by using Debit Cards (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Card s/ Mobile Wallets.
  • After submitting your payment information in the online application form, PLEASE WAIT FOR THE INTIMATION FROM THE SERVER. DO NOT PRESS BACK OR REFRESH BUTTON IN ORDER TO AVOID DOUBLE CHARGE.
  • On successful completion of the transaction, an e-receipt will be generated.
    • In case of non-generation of ‘E-receipt’ indicates PAYMENT FAILURE, candidates are advised to login again using their Provisional Registration Number and Password and repeat the process of payment.
  • Candidates are required to take a printout of the e-receipt and online Application Form containing fee details. Please note that if the same cannot be generated, online transaction may not have been successful.
  • There is facility to print application form containing fee details after payment of fees.

  • Before applying online, a candidate will be required to have a scanned (digital) image of his/her photograph and signature as per the specifications given below:

  • Photograph must be a recent passport size colour picture.
  • Look at the camera straight with relaxed face
  • If you have to use flash, ensure there should not be any “red-eye”
  • If you wear glasses make sure that there are no reflections and your eyes must be clearly seen.
  • Caps, hats and dark glasses are not acceptable. Religious headwear is allowed but it must not cover your whole face.
  • Dimensions 200 x 230 pixels (preferred) – Size of file should be between 20kb–50kb

Signature Image Guidelines: 

  • The applicant has to sign on white paper with Blue/Black Ink pen.
  • The signature must be signed by the applicant and not by any other person.
  • The signature will be used to put on the Call Letter and wherever necessary.
  • Candidate signature must match with his signature he uploaded in the application form, failing which will result in the disqualification of the candidate.
  • Dimensions 140 x 60 pixels (preferred)
  • Size of file should be between 10kb – 20kb

  • Upon your successful online application and payment, IBPS releases admit cards / call letter within 15-20 days of last date of form filling.
    • For 2017, the admit cards were releases in Mid-December 2017.
  • The admit card includes all exam related information such as exam centre, exam venue, post applied for, date and time for both Preliminary and Main examination and interview

  • IBPS SO 2018 Admit card will be released only in online mode only and under no circumstances it will be sent via email or post. Therefore, candidates have to download it within the prescribed date as released by the IBPS SO.
  • Candidates can download IBPS SO admit card 2018 by entering their registration number and password.
  • IBPS SO 2018 Admit card/call letter of mains will be released for those candidates who will qualify the preliminary exam within the cut-off as decided by the Company.

What is the educational qualification required for NICL AO 2018?

  • Candidate should possess certificate in proof of passing the qualifying examination. A candidate must possess the minimum qualification of a Graduate/Post Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University OR any equivalent qualification recognized as such by Central Government with at least 60% marks in either of the degree examination (at least 55% for SC/ST) candidates.
    • The percentage of marks shall be arrived at by dividing the total marks obtained by the aspirant in all the subjects in all semester(s)/years) by aggregate maximum marks in all the subjects irrespective of honours/optional/additional optional subject, if any. This will be applicable for those Universities also where Class/Grade is decided on basis of Honours marks only. The fraction of percentage so arrived will be ignored i.e. 59.99% will be treated as less than 60%.
    • Where CGPA/OGPA are awarded, the candidate will have to produce a certificate issued by the appropriate authority stating the norms of the University regarding conversion of grade into percentage and the percentage of marks scored by the candidate in terms of norms.
  • Qualifications mentioned above should be from any of the recognized Indian Universities approved by the UGC or any of the recognized Indian Institutes approved by AICTE.

What is the age limit to apply for NICL AO 2018?

The upper age limit for NICL AO 2018 is 30 years and the lower age limit is 21 years however do see the table below for the age relaxation of various categories.
